My name is Ciara (pronounced Kira), I’m a tattoo artist in Calgary, Alberta where I live and practice.

My work is primarily inspired by my mixed Indian heritage, and I’ve come to occupy a unique space in the global tattooing landscape, as one of very few Indian people pursuing indo-decorative tattooing on a large scale. I’ve been tattooing since 2015, I taught myself most of what I knew until I moved to Calgary and started working at Bushido with Doug Fink, who mentored me into the artist I am today.

I take a tremendous amount of pride and care in my work, and I feel as though the work I do carries a huge deal of responsibility. I work with people of all backgrounds, and I incorporate my research into Indian and Asian “decorative” art history into my work to ensure that my clients receive informed, intentional and ethical tattoos.
